I’ve always had a sweet tooth, so when I started cutting way back on sugar to decrease my inflammation and insulin, I knew I needed some alternatives.

This smoothie has become a favorite in my house for kids and grownups alike.

It has a great healthy fat to improve satiety, plenty of natural sweetness and fiber from the fruit, and the collagen adds some protein. (Remember, FFP: Fat, Fiber, Protein helps balance your hormones.)

Now, before you go drinking this all the time, I want to remind you to look at it as a treat, not a meal replacement.

This easy, dairy-free, grain-free, paleo recipe makes 2-3 smoothies.

  • 1 can coconut milk (full fat)
  • 1+ cup pineapple (or mango or combined!)
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 scoop collagen
  • Ice if you want it extra cold
  • Topping: shredded coconut
